Harland Miller

Born in Yorkshire in 1964, Harland Miller is an author and artist who has received global

recognition for combining his writerly love of text with artistic movements. By combining the design inherent in the Penguin covers, Miller found a way to merge aspects of Pop Art, abstraction and figurative painting, with his love of text. Both humorous and nostalgic at the same time, the paintings visually replicate the worn, scuffed covers of the Penguin classics in painstaking detail. Miller has since expanded the book covers to include his own clever phrases which are often sardonic statements about life.
